Wii Fit Plus

I finally tried the new Wii Fit Plus. I have been looking forward to this new game since it was announced. Just the idea of being able to go from exercise to exercise without pausing between was a real plus for me. So I was ready to give it a test run. So, here are my thoughts on the new Wii Fit Plus.

*NOTE: If you already own the original Wii Fit and Balance Board, I want to mention up front that this disk takes a while to boot up the first time. I thought there was something wrong with it and I was ready to return it to the store. It takes a few minutes to transfer all your data from the old Wii Fit to the new one. But when it finally begins there you are! All of your data – including the last time you exercised are there.

The Wii Fit plaza are pretty much the same as on the original, but you will find some great changes inside the game! You can now use a ‘multi player’ mode so you can play with family and friends. You will take turns with the remote and Wii Balance Board and change players when it tells you to.

You will now have access to a little area called ‘My Wii Fit Plus’. Here you will find routines that are to be used in addition to your regular workout – they will give you support in different areas. You can choose from Lifestyle, Health, Youth, & Form. You will then get a choice of workouts within those areas. For example – I choose Health, then the workout ‘Indulge’ (it has a mii stuffing their mouth with food!). This workout had me run, then go right into rhythm boxing and then with lunges. It took about 9 minutes so kind of short. But, it went smoothly from one exercise to the next.

There is also an option to create your own routine using Yoga and Strength training. I will cover that and more next time.

FINAL OPINION: So far so good! I feel like I can give the Wii Fit Plus a great review. It won’t get you running a marathon, but you will get off the couch and have some fun working out. Plus – it is only $20 if you already own the Balance Board. I look forward to another day with my Wii Fit Plus!
