The Best Mascara – Cover Girl Exact Eyelights

What woman isn’t searching for the best mascara? It seems I am always on the quest for the perfect lash enhancer. Most clump, flake or just end up as smudges under my eyes. When I first saw the ads for the Cover Girl Exact Eyelights Mascara – with beautiful Rhianna, I was interested. Could a mascara really make my sometimes green, sometimes hazel eyes stand out? More importantly, would this be a great mascara that I would love!

When I went to the cosmetic section of the store to find the mascara, I didn’t realize that Exact Eyelights is an entire line of eye makeup from Cover Girl. They have eye shadow and eyeliner that are also supposed to enhance your eyes. According to the Cover Girl website, Exact Eyelights will brighten your eyes by 4x when you wear the eye shadow, eye liner, & mascara. Hmm – I was only in the market for mascara, so that is all I bought.

Now the way this mascara is supposed to highlight your eyes is with light-reflecting metallics and a little tint of color. I bought the ‘black gold’ for my hazel eyes. I got the regular mascara, not the waterproof.

My first impression was of the brush, it is great brush for mascara. The bristles are closer together than the mascara I had been using and I wasn’t sure if that would be good or bad. Turns out that is good! The Exact Eyelights mascara goes on very clean – no clumps! I haven’t had non-clumping mascara for a long time. So far so good. Five stars for the brush!

The mascara formula itself was very good, goes on smooth and looks great. The mascara was still on my eyelashes at the end of the day, not under my eyes like a football player. Another five stars for the mascara formula!

The last thing I was curious about was if it really highlighted my eyes. I put the mascara on one eye then looked in the mirror. Nope – not a difference. Maybe if I used all the Cover Girl Exact Eyelights products? So, for eye color brightening, zero stars. But like I said, if I had used the whole system maybe that would have made a difference.

FINAL OPINION: In spite of not highlighting my eyes, I really like this mascara! It goes on smoothly, doesn’t clump, and is still on my lashes at the end of the day. So for me, this is the best mascara!
