Leap Frog DVDs – The Letter Factory

The Leap Frog DVDs are a great way to occupy kids without worrying that their brains will turn to mush! The DVDs are well thought out and very educational. Even the littlest toddlers will learn something great from the Leap Frog DVDs.

I just need to start by saying I think that Leap Frog is on of the most innovative companies out there! I don’t have stock in the company or anything (although I think it would be a good one!), I just think their products are great. They are educational yet fun. Kids love them and so do parents – it is the best of both worlds!

The DVD we are looking at is LeapFrog – Letter Factory. I chose this one because I have witnessed the results of this DVD first hand. A friend of mine purchased it for her 4 year old daughter. Her goal was to help the 4 year old get ready for kindergarten. She figured she would learn her letters and sounds – you know, the things you need to know before entering school.

Well, what she didn’t plan on was her 2 1/2 year old learning from the DVD as well. This little boy now knows all his letters by site and can tell you the sounds they make. It is so cute to see him say “P – puh, puh”.

Both kids love this DVD, it is their first choice when she asks if they want to watch a show. Now, my friend does not let her kids watch TV and she only allows one show a day. Her kids pick the LeapFrog – Letter Factory over all the fun Disney movies they have!

I had seen the results of the DVD, so I wanted to see it first hand. I wanted to know how these kids were learning their letters and sounds so easily. So one afternoon I sat down and watched with the kids.

It is a story about a frog family who is making an important presentation at the Letter Factory. The youngest, Tad, is sad that he can’t help the rest of the family with the presentation. But, Tad soon meets up with Professor Quigley who takes Tad on a tour of the factory. There they find a room for each letter of the alphabet. In each room the letters are learning and practicing their sounds, so Tad learns right along with them. The DVD teaches fun ways to remember how a letter sounds with fun visual cues. For instance, the P’s are all in the Popcorn room and the V’s are in the vibrating room.

Leap Frog DVDs are a great educational choice for parents. Kids love the entertainment and parents will love the learning. I for one highly recommend LeapFrog – Letter Factory. It is great!
