iPod Nano – Love at 1st Generation
Personally, I like to have control over my music. No annoying commercials and talking – I just want to enjoy the music that I love mixed up the way I want it!
Several years ago, I picked up a used iPod Nano 1st Generation. I didn’t think I would ever want an iPod – CD’s worked fine for me. Or so I thought – until I paired the iPod with a Griffin iTrip and did just that – iTripped with my music. No more trying to change CD’s while doing 75 mph down the freeway. I set up my playlists and plugged in my iTrip and away we went. Almost 1 full day of music (hey, it was a 1st gen!), never hearing the same song twice unless I decided that I wanted to. I was hooked – for good. My iPod was my companion in the car, while I exercised, and even when I napped (I had a great relaxation playlist). I found a cute little pink leather case, an armband for when I went walking, and of course Skull Candy earbuds. Yes, I was set – a 40 something Mama with her hip iPod and gear.
Eventually all my heavy usage finally wore the poor thing out. It was a sad day indeed. A trip to the Apple Store proved that my little buddy had given up the ghost and was destined for the iPod graveyard. They did give me a discount on a new 4th Generation Nano though – so there was some joy that day.
That little old 1st Generation Nano set me free – no more radio with distractions, no more fumbling with CD’s. I was free to listen to what I wanted – well, except when the iTrip couldn’t find a usable radio frequency. But that is another story!
