Hot Toys 2009 – My Pal Scout

LeapFrog is an innovative toy company and I can tell you right now, the LeapFrog My Pal Scout is a winner in my book. It has a great low price -$18.88 at Amazon, and it is a wonderful, interactive educational toy.

What makes this such a great toy (in addition to the great price!), is the fact that parent can connect Scout to the computer and ‘teach’ it the child’s name. Kid LOVE to press the paw and hear Scout say their name! You can also teach it the child’s favorites like foods, colors, etc. Each of Scout’s paws have a different function.

• Right Front Paw – This paw allows Scout to chat with your child. He will talk to your child about his or her favorite color, animal, etc. The Leapfrog Connect allows you to customize the toy so that Scout and your child have the same answers after you program them. Your child will learn animal sounds and feelings. Scout will will encourage interaction with the child by saying things like, “I feel happy, show me your biggest smile!”
• Left Front – This paw allows your child to listen to learning songs. If you go to Leapfrog Connect you can download favorite songs from 30 listed.
• Right Back – This paw sings to your child. If your child likes a lullaby to listen to before bed, just press the paw once and it will play two minutes of a lullaby. Each time you press the paw, you increase the number of minutes the child gets to listen to songs.
• Right Back This paw is the On/Off button.

Leap Frog has to be one of the most innovative companies for children’s learning toys. Everything they come up with is so awesome! My Pal Scout and My Pal Violet are both Hot Toys for 2009, and they are educational toys too!
