Why is the Wii hot again? There are several reasons, they have just released some great new games:

  • Limited-Edition Wii Sports Resort Bundle with Two Wii MotionPlus – to be released November 5, 2009 – retailing for $56.99 at Amazon.com.  This is being billed as a sequel to the Wii Sports that comes with the Wii Console.  The setting is a tropical resort where you participate in resort type sports – racing a jet ski (Power Cruising); Disc Dog – tossing a disc to a Mii dog; Sky Diving and more.  The Wii Sports Resort comes with a Wii Motion Plus accessory that plugs into the bottom of the wii remote to make it more responsive.  You can buy additional Wii MotionPlus add-ons for your other wii remotes. Retail price $19.49 at Amazon.com. You can play solo or with up to four players.
  • Guitar Hero 5 Stand Alone Game retail price at Amazon – $56.99. Guitar Hero is a hit with anyone who tries it! From elementary school to old school, everyone likes to play guitar like a rock star! What is nice about this one is you don’t have to unlock songs, all 85 are available up front. If you don’t have a guitar, you can buy the Guitar Hero 5 Guitar Bundle, this one retails for just under $100.
  • Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board this includes the balance board and retails for $97.99. If you already have the balance board, you really need to upgrade to the Wii Fit Plus. In case you missed it, you can read my review on this product in three parts: part one, part two, & part 3. I am a big fan of the new program – I can’t say enough about it, LOVE IT!

Parents love the Wii Fit because it gets kids up off the couch and moving! It is a great family game and loads of fun – Mario Kart anyone?  So here it is again, the Wii is a Hot Toy for 2009!
