Cheap Airfare – it’s easy with Travelocity!
I love to travel, but more than that I love to travel CHEAP! I don’t want to feel like my vacation is a huge burden on my budget, so I am always looking for the best ways to cut travel costs. The best savings is to find cheap airfare!
About five years ago I discovered a little thing called Low Fare Alerts on Travelocity. This great feature allows you to select up to 10 destinations and then they will email you when there is a great fare to that airport. It works great and my family has enjoyed some great trips because of Low Fare Alerts! No more spending tons of time trying to search cheap airfare!
Low Fare Alert! Save 20% or More on Flights from Travelocity!
You just log into Travelocity and go to ‘My Travelocity’. Click where it says ‘Low Fare Alert’ and customize your destinations. You select by airport and then decide if you want to watch online with email updates or to watch online only. I strongly recommend that you get the email updates. Most of the great fares are gone in a very short time, so you want to be notified as soon as it drops! You select how long you want the fare watcher to last – all of mine are indefinitely. Who knows when I might want to go on vacation! The final step is to indicate what difference in fare you want to be notified of – $25 drop or if the price drops below a price you set. I always select the price option, then I set the price real low. I know a fare has to be really great for me to take it!
Here is an example of a great fare I got using the Travelocity Low Fare Alert. I have always wanted to go to Hawaii – but the flights are so expensive! So, several years ago I set up a Low Fare Alert for Salt Lake City to Honolulu and I asked to be notified (by email) when the price drops below $275. This is a very low fare, it usually averages around $525 RT. One morning this summer I pulled up my email to find a Low Fare Alert email – airfare from Salt Lake City to Honolulu for only $234 per person round trip! Of course I jumped on this and booked two tickets for less than the average price for one! I called a few friends, but by the time they got on the website the fare was gone. You have to act quick!
Our family has also enjoyed great trips to New York City (Salt Lake City to NYC – $128 RT) and Orlando – $118 RT. I am a real fan of the Travelocity Low Fare Alert because you never know when you might need a great vacation! And of course those discount Hawaii airline tickets made it all worth it!
