Biofreeze Gel – have you tried this product?

I am the first to admit I am a skeptic. I don’t usually embrace alternate medicines – although I know there are a lot of good ones out there.  I am just happy with the tried and true remedies I use now.  So, when I was told Biofreeze would help my back pain, I just smiled, took the tube and said thanks.  I wasn’t going to give it a chance – was I surprised!

It all started when I was canning peaches (see previous post on canning apples – I am a canning fool!).  I stood on a hard floor for about 7 hours helping my family get those peaches done.  To say the least, I could barely walk when we were done.  I must have been leaning against the counter with my back swayed most of the time. I couldn’t even straighten up!

I thought if I just went home and went to bed, all would be better in the morning.  Well a rough nights sleep and many ibuprofen later I was still in a world of hurt!  I went to work the next morning and a coworker insisted on calling her chiropractor and making me an appointment.  She meant well, but I did NOT want to go to the chiropractor! I figured time was all I needed and then it would be better.  But since she made the appointment I went.

I do not like getting my back adjusted – I just don’t.  I guess I haven’t been to a chiropractor enough to realize the benefits.  But, he did have a wonderful massage table that I could have laid on for hours! After the massage table he did adjust my back – after the massage it wasn’t too bad.

Now to the Biofreeze. The Doctor gave me a tube as I left his office.  He told me to try it for a few days and then come back to see him. I thanked him and took it. I planned to try it, but I didn’t expect it to work.  After all, the pain was INSIDE my back, what could a cream put on the outside do?

Was I wrong! This is a gel that you massage into the affected area.  A couple of minutes after putting it on it gets real cold – almost like you have an ice pack on.  I liked this because ice made my back feel better, this was like a portable ice pack.  Great idea!  The gel has no odor, so no one knows you are using it. That makes it great when I have to go to work.  I continued to put it on throughout the day – up to four times.

After using Biofreeze for a few days, my back felt so much better that I didn’t need to go back to the chiropractor.

FINAL OPINION: This is an excellent product that I highly recommend.  It does what it says and helps reduce inflammation.  I bought 3 more tubes so I will always have Biofreeze on hand!
